Grand Final Showdowns Loom as Riverina Finals Heat Up This Weekend

URGENT UPDATE: The excitement is palpable as the Riverina sports scene intensifies this weekend with crucial finals matches across multiple leagues. The Farrer League is in full swing, with East Wagga-Kooringal set to clash with Temora for a coveted spot in the grand final on July 15, 2023. The stakes are high, as the loser will face a challenging preliminary final next weekend against either Charles Sturt University or Marrar.

In A Grade action, the minor premiers Marrar will take on the Hawks in Saturday’s second semi-final, while on Sunday, Temora faces fierce local rivals Northern Jets. The Riverina League finals series kicks off with a showdown between Ganmain-Grong Grong-Matong and Coolamon at Narrandera Sportsground.

Adding to the weekend’s drama, Turvey Park confronts Mangoplah-Cookardinia United-Eastlakes in a sudden-death elimination final on Sunday. In the same league, Griffith squares off against Coolamon, while Collingullie-Wagga and Wagga Tigers meet in an elimination final for the third consecutive year, heightening the rivalry.

As the final round of the regular season in Group Nine unfolds, Young will host Temora, with the Kangaroos facing Tumut and Albury traveling to Junee. Gundagai welcomes Brothers, while Southcity and Cootamundra complete the round 16 fixtures.

In the Southern Inland league, both Waratahs and Tumut head to Griffith for a pivotal preliminary final, with the winner advancing to face Wagga City next weekend. Additionally, the women’s preliminary final sees Ag College battling Waratahs, with the victor set to take on Griffith next Saturday.
