UPDATE: On December 13, 2023, hundreds of Santa-clad cyclists will take to the streets for the 20th annual Huskisson Charity Santa Bike Ride, a vibrant event set to launch at 3 PM from White Sands Park in Huskisson. This festive tradition not only brings joy but also raises crucial funds for the Huskisson Rural Fire Service (RFS).
This year’s ride promises to be particularly special as organizers aim to break the previous participation record of 300 riders and exceed a fundraising goal of $10,000. Enthusiastic participants will don a variety of Santa costumes, creating a spectacular parade that will wind through Huskisson’s streets, including a closure of Owen Street to ensure safety and maximize the festive atmosphere.
The event is sponsored by Jervis Bay Brewing, which will host an after-party at their brewery in Woollamia, featuring a complimentary drink of the exclusive Santa Ride Lager and a sausage sandwich for every ticket holder. Huskisson RFS captain Sanna Reeves emphasized the importance of this annual event, stating,
“This year’s ride is particularly special as it’s the 20th ride and our sponsors are really going to town on the after-party.”
Additionally, local traffic management companies Site Specific and Accelerated Training are providing support to ensure a safe and enjoyable experience for all participants, including families with children and pets.
