Man Charged with Dangerous Driving After Fatal Lysterfield Crash

BREAKING: A 22-year-old man from Malvern has been charged with dangerous driving causing death following a tragic head-on collision in Lysterfield late Thursday night, September 11, 2023. This devastating crash, which took place around 11 PM on Lysterfield Road, has left one woman dead and another man seriously injured.

In the shocking incident, a Toyota Hilux utility collided with a Hyundai i30, resulting in critical consequences. Despite immediate CPR efforts, the 26-year-old driver of the Hyundai, hailing from Croydon, was pronounced dead at the scene. Meanwhile, a 47-year-old male passenger in the Hilux was airlifted to the hospital, where he is currently being treated for serious but non-life-threatening injuries.

Authorities report that the driver of the Hilux was taken to the hospital under police guard with minor injuries. Following an urgent investigation, he has been charged and granted bail to appear at the Melbourne Magistrates’ Court on September 16.
