Police Capture Weapons After Violent Bendigo Pub Incident

URGENT UPDATE: Police have seized a machete and a fake gun following a violent incident at the British & American Hotel in Bendigo on August 1. The altercation, which occurred around 9:15 PM, left a 36-year-old woman hospitalized with minor injuries, prompting an immediate police response.

Witnesses report that the incident involved multiple individuals, including five men and two women. Although the exact circumstances of the attack remain unclear, police confirmed that both weapons were “sighted” during the affray. The situation escalated quickly, leading to chaos in the popular pub.

Two men, aged 21 and 22, were arrested at the scene and have since been released pending summons. Authorities have not disclosed how the weapons were utilized or if any patrons intervened to assist the injured woman. The pub has since reopened, but the community is left shaken by the event.
