BREAKING: A 28-year-old police officer from NSW Police has been dismissed and arrested following a series of alarming domestic violence allegations spanning two years, involving multiple victims. Max Marshall was taken into custody at Silverwater Correctional Centre on Wednesday after being charged with nine counts related to domestic violence, including serious offences.
Authorities confirm that Marshall faces four counts of domestic violence-related assault, including one count of assault occasioning grievous bodily harm and two counts of assault occasioning actual bodily harm. These charges stem from incidents alleged to have occurred in 2023 and 2024, with the latest allegations involving a 21-year-old woman who required hospitalization due to serious injuries.
The shocking details reveal that on December 3, during the early hours, Marshall is accused of stalking the woman for several hours before physically assaulting her, leading to injuries on her leg and face. Following the incident, he allegedly broke into her home intending to intimidate her. He was arrested later that day at 1 PM and found in possession of cannabis and weapons ammunition, leading to additional charges.
Marshall, who was off-duty at the time, had been a probationary constable in the central metropolitan region command. He was officially dismissed from the force on December 5. His fresh charges were addressed in Burwood Court on Thursday, where he did not apply for bail, which was formally refused.
Both victims have sought Apprehended Violence Orders for their protection. The seriousness of these allegations has garnered significant attention and raised urgent concerns about the conduct of law enforcement officers.
Marshall is scheduled to appear in court again on December 17 as this case continues to unfold.
