Golden Prawn #3, the newest addition to the Riverside Village dining scene, is set to open its doors on December 3, 2025. This classic Chinese takeout restaurant, operated by Gracie Nguyen and Chad Newton of You Are Here Hospitality, aims to offer a nostalgic menu inspired by their childhood experiences with Chinese cuisine.
The restaurant will feature a hot bar, serving wok-fired dishes alongside a curated à la carte menu. Nguyen and Newton’s vision is to create a space that celebrates their fond memories of Chinese takeout, providing familiar dishes at accessible prices. Nguyen’s extensive background in wok cooking, developed through years of collaboration with seasoned Chinese and Vietnamese chefs, anchors the restaurant’s culinary offerings.
Golden Prawn #3 will operate daily from 11:00 to 15:00 and 17:00 to 20:00, initially launching with limited hours and a focus on takeout service. Customers can place their orders in person, with an expanded menu and updated hours anticipated shortly after opening. The hot bar will offer one-item bowls, two-item plates, and three-item “bigger plates,” each paired with a choice of house fried rice, house chow mein, or a half-and-half combination.
Among the menu highlights are popular dishes such as Sweet & Sour Pork, Broccoli Beef, Vegetable Deluxe, Kung Pao Chicken, Orange Chicken, and Mongolian Beef. Additional sides and appetizers will include Pork & Shrimp Potstickers, Veggie Spring Rolls, and Hot & Sour Soup. The à la carte menu will broaden the selections to include chicken, pork, beef, seafood, and vegetable entrees, all served with white rice. Notable items include Golden Prawns, Kung Pao Shrimp, and Sweet & Spicy Eggplant. Furthermore, a variety of vegetarian, vegan, and gluten-free options will cater to diverse dietary preferences.
The restaurant’s design, crafted by Southwick Architecture + Interiors in collaboration with Fresh Creative Studios, promises an inviting atmosphere. The interior will feature a warm color palette of red, gold, and cream, complemented by a striking neon sign at the entrance. Custom wallpaper adorned with playful illustrations of prawns and takeout boxes will enhance the nostalgic theme, while framed vintage Chinese takeout menus will line the walls, paying homage to beloved eateries across the country.
At the heart of the dining experience will be the hot bar, which aims to capture the essence of traditional Chinese takeout. Located at 1404 McGavock Pike, Nashville, TN, Golden Prawn #3 looks to carve out a unique niche in the bustling food landscape of East Nashville. As the opening date approaches, many are eager to witness the debut of a restaurant that marries nostalgia with authentic flavors.
