Lankford’s, a beloved burger establishment, is set to expand its presence in the Greater Houston area with a new location in The Woodlands. The burger joint is anticipated to open at 24 Waterway Ave., Ste. 160, by January 2024, according to information from Community Impact.
The history of Lankford’s dates back to 1937, when Aubrey and Nona Lankford first opened a grocery store on Dennis Street in downtown Houston. Over the years, the business evolved significantly. Their daughter, Eydie Lankford, transformed the original grocery store into an icehouse and then into a full-service restaurant, which is now managed by her son and daughter-in-law, Paul and Jessica Prior.
This upcoming establishment will be the third Lankford’s location, following the successful branch in Bellaire. While there are no immediate plans for further expansions, the family aims to preserve the Lankford’s legacy, as conveyed through their official website.
Lankford’s has garnered a reputation for its diverse selection of burgers. The menu features options ranging from traditional styles to unique offerings like The Houston, which boasts a half-pound patty topped with slow-smoked brisket, pickles, onions, cheddar cheese, and BBQ sauce on a brioche bun. The eatery also provides a comprehensive breakfast menu, along with sandwiches and salads, ensuring there is something to satisfy every palate.
As the opening date approaches, the anticipation for the new Lankford’s location continues to grow. While What Now Houston attempted to reach the Priors for further comments on the new establishment, no response was received prior to publication.
The addition of this new site in The Woodlands reflects Lankford’s ongoing success and commitment to delivering quality food and service to its customers. With its rich history and evolving menu, the upcoming location is likely to attract both long-time fans and new patrons eager to experience what the restaurant has to offer.
