In a surprising revelation, actress Tyne Daly confirmed that she was not invited to her brother Tim Daly‘s wedding to actress Tea Leoni. The intimate ceremony, which took place on July 12, 2023, was described as “exclusive” and attended solely by immediate family members.
During an interview with People magazine, Tyne shared details about the small gathering held at the couple’s apartment in New York. “There was a small wedding. Very exclusive, very, very private,” she noted. “They only had people that they gave birth to or people who gave birth to them.” This suggests that the guest list was limited to their respective parents and children, emphasizing the couple’s desire for privacy during their nuptials.
Despite the limited attendance, Tyne mentioned that Tim and Tea plan to host a celebratory party to include more loved ones in the near future. “However, I’m going to see the newlyweds quite soon,” she added, hinting at her ongoing connection with the couple.
As Tyne prepares for her visit, she is also working on a surprise “Christmas present” for Tea Leoni, who shares two children—West Duchovny, 26, and Kyd Duchovny, 23—with her ex-husband David Duchovny. Tyne remained tight-lipped about the details, stating, “It’s a secret. I can’t tell you what the present is. Nobody likes surprises anymore.”
Tim and Tea’s romance blossomed after they met on the set of the television series Madam Secretary in 2014, where they portrayed a married couple, Elizabeth and Henry McCord. Their relationship became public in December of that year, following Tea’s divorce from David after 17 years of marriage.
The couple made their public debut at the White House Correspondents’ Dinner in Washington, D.C., in April 2015. Their relationship was initially met with surprise by their co-star Geoffrey Arend, who remarked on the unexpected nature of their romance, saying, “I heard a rumour about it, and everyone was like, ‘No, no way!’ And I’m like, ‘Maybe.'” He expressed admiration for Tim, stating, “He couldn’t be a nicer guy. Tim’s the best—they’re really good together.”
As Tim and Tea embark on this new chapter in their lives, the planned celebration signals their intention to embrace a broader circle of family and friends. Tyne’s role as a supportive sister reflects the ongoing familial bonds, even in the face of an exclusive wedding event.
