Sigenergy Technology Co., Ltd. announced the topping-out of its new smart manufacturing hub in Nantong, Jiangsu, China, marking a significant milestone in the company’s global manufacturing expansion. This development follows the groundbreaking earlier in the year, indicating progress towards operational readiness and production capabilities.
Strategic Importance of the Nantong Hub
The Nantong Smart Manufacturing Hub is poised to become one of Sigenergy’s core production bases. It is designed to facilitate the large-scale delivery of inverters, residential and commercial industrial (C&I) energy storage systems, and energy gateways. Once operational, the facility is expected to manufacture over 300,000 units annually, thereby strengthening the company’s ability to meet rising global demand.
Covering approximately 7.67 hectares (or 115,000 square meters), the project represents an investment of around USD 70 million. The hub will include modern production workshops, a research and development (R&D) and design center, warehouses, a comprehensive office building, and supporting infrastructure.
Innovative Features of the Smart Factory
Designed as a next-generation smart factory, the Nantong hub integrates various elements of production, R&D, logistics, and operations in line with global best practices. This facility is set to establish benchmarks in intelligent and digital manufacturing. It will feature a fully digitalized, closed-loop system and a comprehensive lifecycle quality traceability framework that spans the supply chain, production, and logistics.
Such innovations will ensure that every aspect of the manufacturing process is visible, traceable, and controllable, enhancing efficiency and quality assurance. Sigenergy aims to lead in capacity expansion and product innovation, continually developing its portfolio of advanced solutions.
Among its notable offerings is the world’s first 5-in-1 solar-storage-charging system known as SigenStor, as well as advanced C&I solar-storage solutions. The company also provides a wide range of residential hybrid inverters and microinverters. This diverse product lineup solidifies Sigenergy’s competitive edge in the distributed solar and storage sector and has received positive feedback in global markets.
As Sigenergy moves forward with this ambitious project, it reinforces its commitment to not only expand its manufacturing capabilities but also to innovate within the renewable energy sector. The Nantong hub is expected to play a vital role in supporting the company’s long-term growth strategy in an increasingly competitive market.
