Australia Launches First Gender-Neutral Underwear Brand Today

UPDATE: Australia has just launched its first-ever gender-neutral and sensory-friendly underwear brand, Being Wear, aimed at revolutionizing the intimates market. Founded by Andrew Whittle, the brand is set to cater to individuals who struggle to find comfortable underwear due to sensory issues or gendered product offerings.

Whittle’s inspiration stemmed from witnessing his daughter’s challenges in finding suitable underwear. “In that moment Being was born. For all human beings,” he stated. This urgent need for inclusivity led to a groundbreaking launch that directly addresses feedback from over 4,000 Gen Z individuals across Australia, the UK, and the US. A significant 62 percent indicated that brands should expand gender-free clothing options.

Being Wear’s categories are uniquely designed without traditional gender segmentation, allowing customers to effortlessly browse tops, bottoms, and socks. Each size is accompanied by specific measurements, making it easier for all individuals to find their perfect fit.

The brand emphasizes the importance of comfort, particularly for those with sensory-related challenges. According to recent studies, one in five Australians experiences some form of sensory issue, which can lead to distress when clothing does not fit or feel right. Whittle focused on eliminating discomfort by using soft, breathable modal fabric, derived from renewable beech tree pulp, and removing scratchy tags and stiff seams.

Being Wear’s initial collection features a range of comfortable basics, including briefs and binders, with sizes available from 3XS to 3XL. Each item is priced around $25 and designed to move with the wearer. Notably, the g-string offers customizable options for pouch placement, ensuring comfort regardless of anatomy.

The complete range includes:
– **Being Wear Briefs** – Lightweight and breathable, available in three colors for versatility.
– **Being Wear Boxers** – Designed with optional pouch, perfect for lounging.
– **Being Wear Binders** – Offered in two compression levels—firm and light—for a tailored fit.
– **Being Wear Bralette** – A soft, comfortable design that prioritizes wearability.
– **Being Wear Quarter Socks** – Featuring a padded sole for cushioning and breathable construction.

Being Wear is not just an underwear brand; it’s a movement towards inclusivity and comfort for all. As more consumers demand gender-neutral options, brands like Being Wear are setting new standards in the industry.

Shoppers can explore the full range on Being Wear’s official website, where the commitment to comfort and inclusivity shines through every product. This launch marks a pivotal moment in the fashion industry, making it urgent for consumers to support brands that prioritize human experiences over traditional gender norms.

Stay updated as Being Wear continues to make strides in redefining comfort and inclusivity in the apparel market. Share this news with friends and family to spread the word about this significant development in Australian fashion!
