City of Casey’s December Festivities Kick Off with Community Spirit

UPDATE: The City of Casey is buzzing with excitement as it launches a month of festive celebrations! Starting with the Community Neighbourhood BBQ on Friday, December 12, 2023, at the Cranbourne West Community Hub, families are invited to join in the fun with games, a fundraising sausage sizzle, and community spirit.

The festivities ramp up that same evening with Christmas on the Foreshore in Tooradin, where the night will sparkle with food trucks, live entertainment, and a stunning fireworks display over Western Port. Residents are urged to come together and celebrate the joy of the season.

On Saturday, December 13, 2023, the highly anticipated Gethsemane’s Clyde Christmas Carols will be hosted at Hillcrest Christian College oval by singer and pastor Kerrigan La-Brooy. This event promises rides, craft stalls, and a special “Christmas Miracle” gift for every registered child, solidifying its place as one of Clyde’s most cherished community gatherings.

Meanwhile, the Lynbrook Christmas Festival and Market is set to bring festive energy with market stalls, rides, and Santa visits, ensuring a memorable experience for families. Also on the agenda, Friends of the Tulliallan Elms will host the third annual Christmas Under the Elms in Cranbourne North on the same day. This enchanting evening will feature a free outdoor movie, face painting, and performances from the Melbourne Youth Chorale.

As the festive spirit continues, Friday, December 19, 2023, will see the Casey City Church Carols in Hampton Park, featuring live performances, food trucks, and another spectacular fireworks finale at Cairns Road Reserve.

Saturday, December 20, 2023, will showcase the Pearcedale Community Market – Christmas Edition, filling the historic hall with live music, produce stalls, and festive food, making it a must-visit for holiday shoppers.

In a heartwarming display of community support, the Warneet–Blind Bight CFA Santa Run on Sunday, December 14, 2023, will have Santa visiting local neighborhoods aboard a fire truck, bringing joy to families throughout the area.

Two major community events will take place on Sunday, December 21, 2023: the Find A Penny Foundation Christmas BBQ in Hampton Park, which is calling for volunteers to assist families in need, and the Turningpoint Lyndhurst Free Community Christmas Celebrations at Marriott Waters, offering carols, games, and a sausage sizzle.

For those on the North side of Casey, the Wilson Botanic Park is hosting a special Elf Scavenger Hunt as part of their 12 Days of Christmas initiative, providing families with a fun way to engage in the holiday spirit.

Furthermore, the CFA Narre Warren will be visiting neighborhoods with Santa on Sunday, December 10, 2023, collecting donations for non-perishable food items to benefit the Transit Soup Kitchen. Bk 2 Basics will also be accepting toy donations until December 19, 2023, ensuring that every child in need will receive gifts this holiday season.

On Saturday, December 20, 2023, Bodega on High will present a delightful event along Berwick’s High Street, featuring decorations, Santa visits, and local entertainment, creating a festive atmosphere for all.

Christmas Eve will culminate in the beloved Max Pawsey Reserve carols, a tradition that has brought families together since 1975. The evening promises rides, food trucks, and a spectacular fireworks show at 9:15 PM.

Finally, for those feeling alone or in need this Christmas Day, the Transit Soup Kitchen will host a special community Christmas Lunch at 12 PM, welcoming all for a day of good food and companionship.
