UPDATE: A 42-year-old man has been arrested and charged with multiple offenses, including drug possession and weapon-related crimes, on the Mid North Coast of New South Wales. The incident occurred around 12:10 PM on November 21, 2025, as police conducted routine patrols on Eric Kennedy Street, West Kempsey.
Authorities report that officers approached the man and allegedly discovered a glock-style replica pistol in his possession. Upon further search, police found a wooden-handled steak knife, a wooden shaft with a metal barb, as well as six resealable bags of heroin and one resealable bag of methamphetamine.
The suspect was taken into custody at the Kempsey Police Station and charged with several serious offenses: possession of an unregistered firearm, custody of a knife in a public place, possession of an offensive implement, and two counts of possession of prohibited drugs.
He has been refused bail and is set to appear before Parramatta Bail Court Division 1 on November 22, 2025. This urgent development underscores ongoing concerns regarding drug-related crimes and public safety in the region.
