Man Charged After Stabbing Delivery Driver in Sydney Attack

BREAKING: A 31-year-old man has been charged following a shocking stabbing attack on a delivery driver in Ultimo, Sydney, that left the victim with over a dozen wounds. The violent incident occurred on Monday night as the 24-year-old delivery driver was pushed off his bike and assaulted with a screwdriver on Mary Ann St.

Authorities report that the assailant fled the scene immediately after the attack. The delivery driver was rushed to the hospital by paramedics and is currently in a serious but stable condition.

In a swift response, police arrested the suspect on Thursday afternoon on Pyrmont St, Camperdown. During the arrest, officers seized a screwdriver believed to be used in the attack for forensic examination. The man was subsequently taken to Day Street Police and charged with wounding with intent to cause grievous bodily harm.

He has been refused bail and is set to appear in court on Friday. This disturbing incident has raised significant concerns about safety in the community, prompting local residents to call for increased security measures for delivery personnel.

As investigations continue, police urge anyone with information to come forward. This attack highlights the risks faced by delivery drivers, a growing concern as more people rely on these essential services.
