URGENT UPDATE: The Moorabool Council has just announced a unique opportunity for artists to contribute to the creative landscape of Ballan by designing illuminated artwork for the new pavilion at McLean Reserve. This initiative aims to enhance the park’s visual appeal while inviting local talent to showcase their skills.
Artists residing in Moorabool or those with a demonstrated connection to the region are encouraged to submit their expressions of interest by 6 PM on September 30, 2023. This is a critical chance for creative individuals to leave their mark in a public space, as the selected artworks will be projected nightly for four months using four permanent gobo projectors installed in the pavilion.
The council seeks black and white line drawings or patterns that can be transformed into stunning lighting effects. Notably, artists do not need to have specialist lighting knowledge; submissions can be made as simple drawings, text, or patterns that effectively translate into the desired visual impact.
Interested artists must email their CV, proof of residency or a statement of connection to Moorabool, and their proposed artwork to the council. The selection will be based on the image files submitted.
Further details, including submission guidelines and technical requirements, can be found in the official call for expressions of interest document available on the council’s website at moorabool.vic.gov.au.
This initiative not only offers artists a platform to express their creativity but also aims to foster community engagement and beautify public spaces, making it a project with significant local impact.
Don’t miss out on this chance to shine—submit your artwork before the deadline! Share this news with fellow artists and help spread the word about this exciting opportunity in Moorabool.
