Polestar 3 Breaks Record, Drives 935km on Single Charge!

URGENT UPDATE: The Polestar 3 has shattered the record for the longest distance driven on a single charge, achieving an astonishing 935 kilometers. This feat was accomplished under carefully calculated conditions, showcasing the advancements in electric vehicle technology.

The record-breaking journey, which took place in Gothenburg, Sweden, lasted nearly 23 hours and was driven at a controlled speed of 40.7 km/h to maximize range. This strategic decision allowed the Polestar 3 to exceed its official range of 706 kilometers by more than 200 kilometers, dispelling long-held myths about electric vehicle capabilities.

The attempt was completed by professional drivers Sam Clarke, Kevin Booker, and Richard Parker, who took turns driving in three-hour shifts. They utilized a support vehicle equipped with a mobile bed, allowing for quick rest breaks. The timing of the journey was also crucial; starting at 2:00 AM helped avoid heavy traffic and took advantage of cooler temperatures, which further extended the vehicle’s range.

According to Matt Galvin, Managing Director of Polestar UK, this achievement is monumental for the electric vehicle industry. “While the drivers pushed the Polestar 3 to the boundaries of its range capability, it shows how battery range has improved exponentially over the past few years,” he stated. The accomplishment effectively challenges the narrative that electric vehicles cannot travel long distances.

The Polestar 3 used for the record was a standard production model with no modifications, equipped with 20-inch wheels and Michelin Sport 4 EV tires, proving that consumers can achieve similar results straight off the showroom floor. The attempt was meticulously documented and verified by Guinness World Records, ensuring its legitimacy with independent video footage, GPS data, and battery level information.

At 1:18 AM, nearly 23 hours after departing, the vehicle reached a 0% state of charge, but remarkably traveled an additional 12.8 kilometers before reaching the nearest charging station. This final push demonstrated the vehicle’s impressive engineering and its ability to push boundaries.

Polestar’s CEO expressed pride in this milestone, emphasizing the brand’s commitment to leading in electric vehicle technology. “We are very proud to say we have a world record holder in the Polestar family! This official Guinness World Record for range is another proof point that Polestar 3 is setting new standards,” he remarked.

The record-setting Polestar 3 Long Range Single Motor is now available for pre-order in Australia, with prices starting at A$123,500, and customer deliveries are expected to begin in Q3 2025. For more information, visit Polestar’s official website.

As electric vehicle technology continues to evolve, this record proves that sustainability and performance can go hand in hand, making a significant impact not only on the industry but also on consumer confidence in electric mobility. This achievement is sure to resonate with environmental enthusiasts and the automotive community alike, making the Polestar 3 a vehicle to watch.

Stay tuned for more updates on electric vehicle advancements and innovations!
