South Morang’s Carols by Candlelight Set for December 12!

UPDATE: South Morang is gearing up for a spectacular festive evening as Whittlesea proudly presents its annual Carols by Candlelight on December 12. Taking place from 6 PM to 9 PM on the Civic Centre Lawns, this beloved community event is expected to attract hundreds of families, promising an unforgettable night filled with music, lights, and holiday spirit.

The evening will kick off with an electrifying performance from Team Dream, whose vibrant Christmas show is tailored to entertain both children and parents. Following that, more than 70 singers and musicians from across the region will unite as the Community Carols Choir and Diamond Valley Brass Band take the stage, delivering a delightful mix of classic Christmas tunes.

Headlining the event, Glenn Starr will wrap up the night with a heartwarming set of festive favorites, delivering smooth vocals that are sure to bring warmth and joy to attendees. Alongside the musical performances, families can look forward to an array of free activities, including face painting, craft workshops, and roving entertainment. Notably, Santa Claus will make a special appearance at 8 PM, adding an extra touch of magic to the evening.

Mayor Martin Taylor expressed his enthusiasm for the event, stating, “Carols by Candlelight is one of those special events that truly captures the spirit of our community. It’s a night full of warmth, laughter, and song, and a wonderful way to wrap up the year.” This sentiment resonates with many residents who view the event as a highlight of the festive season.

Attendees are encouraged to bring a picnic rug, gather their friends and family, and enjoy delicious offerings from local food trucks. The event is set to take place at 25 Ferres Boulevard, South Morang, and best of all, it’s completely free!
