UPDATE: A $120,000 classic convertible has been stolen from a rural property in Moorabool, and authorities are urgently seeking the public’s help to locate it. The theft occurred overnight from midnight Saturday to 11:15 AM on November 5, 2023, when burglars accessed a shed on Dicksons Road and made off with a stunning 1965 Riley Roadster convertible, registration plates 75672H.
This unique vehicle, described as an eye-catching classic that could easily fit into a James Bond film, is not just a car but a labor of love for its owner. In addition to the Roadster, the thieves also stole an orange KTM 450CC dirt bike, registration 86278.
Detective Senior Constable Alexei Anikeev from the Moorabool Crime Investigation Unit is leading the appeal for information. “This car is someone’s pride and joy and the product of hours of love,” he stated. “The Roadster is not something you see every day. It wouldn’t exactly blend in with Camrys or Corollas on the road. Someone knows something and we urge that person to come forward.”
Authorities have released an image of the classic car in hopes of joggling the memories of locals who may have seen it or know its whereabouts. The emotional impact of this theft is significant, as it represents more than just a vehicle; it symbolizes cherished memories and hard work.
Anyone with information is encouraged to contact Crime Stoppers immediately at 1800 333 000 or visit their website at www.crimestoppersvic.com.au. Your help could be critical in reuniting this beautiful classic car with its rightful owner.
