Young Musicians Unite for Charity Concert on November 22

URGENT UPDATE: The second annual The Sound of Réverie charity concert is set to take place on November 22 from 7 PM to 9 PM at Lugarno Anglican Church, and it promises to be bigger and better than last year! Following the overwhelming success of its inaugural event, a collective of talented young musicians is ready to showcase their skills while supporting The Smith Family in their mission to aid underprivileged children across Australia.

This year, siblings Freda, Matthew, Isaac, and Ethan Chen, along with their friends Mandy Li, Essie Li, Eunice Li, and Gordon Guo, have assembled a remarkable lineup of Sydney’s finest emerging artists. Many performers possess performance diplomas, have received scholarships from prestigious private institutions, and hold leadership roles in major youth symphony orchestras.

Expect a thrilling expansion in this year’s concert, featuring exceptional students from the Sydney Conservatorium of Music such as Arum Lu (violin), Holly Williams (classical saxophone), and Matthew Dobell-Brown (jazz piano). With more performers and diverse performances than last year, the concert aims to make a significant impact in supporting The Smith Family to reach more vulnerable Australian children.

Ethan Chen, a young performer, expressed his excitement:

“I loved playing in last year’s concert. I get to see my friends from outside school, whom I rarely see. Rehearsing together again is great, and it’s amazing how music can unite us while helping kids all over Australia.”

The evening promises a rich blend of musical styles, from classical to contemporary, incorporating eastern and western instruments such as strings, winds, piano, guzheng, and voice. What started as a small community initiative by the Chen family in 2024 has evolved into a beloved annual tradition, bringing young performers together for a noble cause.

Don’t miss this chance to enjoy an inspiring evening filled with music and community spirit, all while supporting a vital cause. Mark your calendars for November 22 and be part of this uplifting event!
