Malaysia Launches Smart Nation Expo 2025 to Showcase Tech Innovation

Malaysia has inaugurated the Smart Nation Expo 2025, a significant event aimed at showcasing the nation’s digital transformation and technological advancements. The expo, which runs from **November 18 to 20, 2025**, at the **Malaysia International Trade and Exhibition Centre (MITEC)** in **Kuala Lumpur**, has attracted over **300 global companies** and is expected to draw more than **21,000 industry professionals**.

During the opening ceremony on **November 18**, the Deputy Prime Minister of Malaysia, **YAB Datuk Amar Haji Fadillah Bin Haji Yusof**, delivered an impactful address, underscoring the country’s ambition to lead in the digital economy. “Our national digital initiatives align seamlessly with the themes of this expo—Driving Digitalisation Towards a Smart Economy. We aim to position Malaysia as a regional leader in the digital economy, fostering an ecosystem that encourages innovation, investment, and collaboration,” he stated.

The expo’s Chairman, **Tan Sri Dato’ Sri Dr Hj. Mohd Nasir Mohd Ashraf**, echoed this vision, emphasizing the event’s focus on generating actionable business outcomes. “We have designed this space to facilitate not just conversations but conversions – where handshakes turn into partnerships, and discussions transform into deals,” he said.

Comprehensive Technology Showcase

The Smart Nation Expo features a variety of international pavilions from technological leaders including **Mainland China**, **Taiwan**, **Singapore**, **Hungary**, and **Korea**. These pavilions display innovations in **5G technology**, **smart cities**, **Industry 4.0**, and other emerging technologies that are pivotal to the region’s digital transformation.

A notable aspect of this year’s event is the strategic co-location of **EVM (Electric Vehicle Manufacturing) Asia** and **Data Centre Asia Malaysia**. EVM Asia is focused on advancing electric mobility, covering innovations in electric vehicles, charging infrastructure, and battery technology—all integral to Malaysia’s sustainable transportation goals. Concurrently, Data Centre Asia Malaysia addresses the escalating demand for advanced data infrastructure, spotlighting developments in data management, storage, and cloud computing solutions.

In addition to the exhibition, three major summits are being held alongside: the **Digital Economy Leaders’ Summit 2025**, the **Asia Smart Cities Summit 2025**, and the **Energy Industries Council (EIC) Forum**. These summits aim to connect solution providers with decision-makers, fostering essential dialogues regarding the future of digital transformation within the region.

Engaging Sessions and Expert Insights

A highlight of the expo is the **Technology Talk**, featuring over **50 sessions** that cover a diverse range of topics such as **5G technology**, **artificial intelligence**, and **smart city solutions**. These sessions are designed to provide attendees with in-depth insights into how technology is reshaping connectivity, enhancing urban living, and driving industrial growth.

The Smart Nation Expo 2025 is strongly supported by the **Malaysia Convention & Exhibition Bureau (MyCEB)**, which plays a crucial role in facilitating international business events in Malaysia. MyCEB’s commitment to national product development and service to both local and international organizers underscores the importance of business events in driving socio-economic growth and uplifting communities across the country.

As Smart Nation Expo 2025 unfolds, it promises to reshape the digital landscape of Malaysia and the broader ASEAN region. Industry professionals and business leaders are urged to participate in this transformative experience, which is set to enhance the region’s position in the global digital economy.
