Celebrate Cinema and Dance at Gosford’s Fun Haus Events

Gosford Cinema is set to host a vibrant evening of film and community this Friday, November 21. Audiences will gather to enjoy a screening of the cult classic, The Rocky Horror Picture Show, a film that has captivated generations of outsiders and dreamers for nearly 50 years. Directed by the visionary Jim Sharman, the movie features unforgettable performances by Tim Curry, Susan Sarandon, and Barry Bostwick.

This iconic film has become known for its lively atmosphere, where viewers are encouraged to dress up, sing along, and fully immerse themselves in the experience. The communal aspect of the screening fosters a sense of joy and connection, as attendees engage in call-backs, costumes, and laughter. The event not only showcases a beloved film but also reflects Fun Haus Factory’s commitment to creating a culturally rich community in Gosford.

Guests can enjoy themed cocktails starting at 18:00 during happy hour, while Beau’s Burgers serves nostalgic street food. The screening will commence at 19:00 sharp, with a lockout policy in effect to ensure a smooth experience for all attendees. Tickets are available for purchase through the Fun Haus website.

Join the Dance Revolution with Odd Socks on November 22

The excitement continues on Saturday, November 22, with the launch of Odd Socks, a quarterly dance event designed to celebrate individuality and authenticity. This inclusive gathering invites attendees to express themselves freely, embodying the spirit of mismatched socks as a symbol of joy and self-expression.

Curated by local DJ Kate Doherty, Odd Socks promises a lineup of eclectic DJs spanning genres such as techno, house, minimal, electro, and drum and bass. The event features renowned artists like Paula Temple and DJ Sprinkles, alongside Marc Demo, an underground veteran with over 20 years of experience performing in cities like Sydney and Dublin. Also joining the lineup is Matt Vaughan, known for his role in Sydney’s iconic queer party, Loose Ends.

Doors for Odd Socks will open at 18:00, with a $15 cocktail happy hour and delicious street food from Beau’s Burgers. This 18+ event creates a welcoming dance floor for all identities, backgrounds, and abilities. Attendees are encouraged to come as they are, embracing the lighthearted spirit of the evening.

Both events at Fun Haus represent the venue’s dedication to fostering a vibrant cultural scene in Gosford. Whether through the communal experience of cinema or the liberating energy of dance, Fun Haus continues to be a beacon for creative expression and community connection.
