Addison Bjorn, ranked as the No. 10 recruit in the girls’ SC Next 100 class of 2026, has officially committed to the Texas Longhorns. Her decision follows the recent signing of Brihanna Crittendon, who is ranked No. 8. This marks a significant achievement for Head Coach Vic Schaefer, securing back-to-back top-10 prospects in a highly competitive recruiting landscape.
Bjorn expressed her enthusiasm for joining Texas, stating, “I chose Texas because of the strong winning culture and it really felt like home. It is an amazing opportunity for me to compete on the biggest stages and against the best competition in the country.” She considered other prestigious programs, including Iowa, North Carolina, UConn, Kansas, Notre Dame, and Duke, before ultimately selecting Texas. Her ambition is clear: “My goal is to do whatever it takes to help bring a national championship to Texas.”
Impressive Background and Performance
Bjorn’s basketball career has garnered significant attention from an early age. She planned seven official visits last fall, reflecting her thorough approach to the recruitment process. Standing at 6-foot-1, she is a versatile wing player, capable of fulfilling various roles on the court. Her experience with USA Basketball has been noteworthy; she has contributed to gold medal victories at the 2025 U19 World Cup, the 2024 Women’s U17 World Cup, and the 2023 Women’s U16 AmeriCup.
During the recent spring season on the Nike EYBL team All Iowa Attack, Bjorn showcased her skills by averaging 17.6 points, 5.3 rebounds, and 3.1 assists per game, all while shooting an impressive 65% from the field. Her ability to transition between leading the offense and supporting her teammates is expected to facilitate her adaptation to the collegiate level.
Future Impact at Texas
Bjorn’s unique skill set positions her as an interchangeable player who can complement current freshman Aaliyah Crump and standout Madison Booker. This dynamic will enhance the Longhorns’ offensive strategies as they prepare for the upcoming seasons. Bjorn, alongside Crittendon, contributes to a talented 2026 recruiting class that also features No. 20 point guard Aaliah Spaight and No. 57 guard Amalia Holguin.
As Texas continues to build a robust roster, the addition of these high-caliber recruits not only strengthens the team for the future but also raises expectations for success in national tournaments. With Bjorn’s commitment, the Longhorns are well on their way to establishing themselves as a powerful force in women’s college basketball.
