UPDATE: Five teenagers have been charged following a shocking incident at a convenience store where a worker was allegedly stabbed during a robbery attempt. The attack occurred at approximately 2:20 AM on November 20 on Burwood Road in Burwood, leaving the 28-year-old staff member in a critical condition.
Police allege that the group of teens targeted the store and attempted to steal items. When the staff member intervened, he was viciously stabbed by one of the suspects. He was rushed to the hospital and remains in a critical but stable condition. This violent act has left the local community in shock.
A crime scene was quickly established at the convenience store as police launched a comprehensive search for the assailants. Authorities confirmed that the first suspect, a 17-year-old boy, was apprehended at 8:00 AM the same day while officers patrolled Blacktown railway station. He faces multiple charges, including wounding with intent to cause grievous bodily harm and robbery with an offensive weapon.
Later in the day, at 2:00 PM, two additional suspects—a 13-year-old boy and a 16-year-old boy—along with a 15-year-old girl, were also arrested at the train station. All three were charged with robbery in company and participating in a criminal group.
The final teen, a 14-year-old boy, was taken into custody at 5:45 PM and is facing serious charges, including wounding with intent to cause grievous bodily harm and robbery armed with an offensive weapon. All five teenagers have been refused bail and are scheduled to appear in a children’s court on November 21.
