Man, 32, Too Sick for Court After Police Pursuit in Melbourne

URGENT UPDATE: A man accused of ramming a police car in Wangaratta has been deemed too unwell to attend court following a dramatic police chase through Melbourne. James Corboy, also known as James-Dean Corboy, was arrested early Tuesday morning after allegedly leading officers on a pursuit that spanned eight suburbs.

Authorities report that police spotted Corboy speeding in a Toyota Camry on York Street in Moonee Ponds at approximately 1:20 AM on November 25. The chase escalated as officers pursued him through various residential areas before he was cornered in a dead-end street, with the Air Wing tracking his movements from above.

Corboy, 32, is wanted for multiple charges, including an incident involving the alleged ramming of a police vehicle occupied by Detective Leading Senior Constable Neal Thompson. His lawyer informed the Heidelberg court on Wednesday that Corboy is experiencing severe withdrawal from GHB and is unable to appear for his hearing.

This incident adds to Corboy’s mounting legal troubles, as he faces charges related to exposing an emergency worker to danger. He is scheduled to return to Wangaratta court on December 1.

The situation highlights ongoing concerns regarding drug withdrawal and its impact on public safety. NSW officers are actively seeking assistance to locate Corboy, emphasizing the urgency of the case.

As this story develops, further details about Corboy’s health and the implications of his charges will be closely monitored. Stay tuned for updates on this urgent situation that has drawn significant police attention and public concern.
