New Allegations Against Smokey Robinson Add to Legal Troubles

Two additional individuals have come forward with allegations of sexual misconduct against Smokey Robinson, a renowned figure in the music industry. These new claims emerge as part of a broader legal battle, where the legendary singer is already facing a $50 million lawsuit filed by four former housekeepers. The latest plaintiffs, one male and one female, have requested to be included in this ongoing case.

According to court documents obtained by Entertainment Weekly on November 19, 2025, the male plaintiff, identified as John Doe 1, began working for the Robinsons in 2013. He served as an automobile detailer and alleges that Robinson sexually harassed him on multiple occasions. Doe recounts incidents where Robinson allegedly approached him while wearing only underwear and engaged in inappropriate behavior, including exposing himself.

Doe claims these encounters were accompanied by “vulgar and offensive advances,” which he attempted to deflect by asking Robinson to “put some clothes on.” He alleges that he was terminated shortly after an incident in which Robinson allegedly grabbed his hand and attempted to force it onto his exposed genitals. Despite ceasing his services, Doe returned in 2023 at the request of Frances Robinson, only to encounter similar alleged behavior from her husband.

Doe stated in the court documents that he experienced significant emotional distress and humiliation due to the alleged harassment, leading him to quit his position again.

Another plaintiff, referred to as Jane Doe 5, has also detailed her experiences while working as a housekeeper for the Robinsons from 2005 to 2011. She claims that after returning from a leave of absence in 2007 due to a work-related injury, she faced unwanted advances from Robinson. Jane Doe 5 describes multiple incidents in which Robinson allegedly summoned her to the bathroom while he was showering, asking her to scrub his back.

Throughout her employment, she asserts that Robinson attempted to force her to touch him inappropriately on more than ten occasions. Additionally, she claims he would walk around the house naked and engage in unwanted physical contact. The alleged harassment severely impacted her mental health, leading her to undergo breast reduction surgery in February 2015.

Jane Doe 5 further asserts that Frances Robinson was aware of her husband’s behavior but did not intervene. Instead, she claims Frances often yelled at her and used derogatory language, contributing to a hostile work environment.

John W. Harris, the attorney representing the plaintiffs, expressed admiration for their courage in coming forward. He stated, “We commend these two courageous survivors for stepping forward and adding their voices to this case. We look forward to advocating for them vigorously as they pursue the justice they deserve.”

In response to the allegations, Smokey Robinson has denied all claims of misconduct. His attorney, Christopher Frost, described the plaintiffs as part of a group conspiring against the Robinsons for financial gain. Frost alleged that the accusations are part of an organized campaign to extract money from the 85-year-old singer.

Frost has previously filed a lawsuit against the plaintiffs for defamation, civil conspiracy, and elder abuse. He characterized the actions of the plaintiffs as an attempt to gain global publicity through damaging allegations. He stressed that the Robinsons have sought court intervention to compel the anonymous plaintiffs to disclose essential information and evidence necessary for a fair investigation of the claims.

As the legal proceedings unfold, the case continues to attract significant media attention, emphasizing the serious nature of the allegations against a figure who has influenced the music industry for decades. The outcome of this case may have lasting implications not only for Robinson but also for the broader conversation surrounding workplace harassment and accountability in the entertainment sector.
