The much-anticipated sequel, Five Nights At Freddy’s 2, is set to premiere on streaming platform Peacock on April 3, 2026. This announcement comes as the film enjoys a successful theatrical run, having been released exclusively in cinemas in December 2025.
Following the success of the first film, which debuted simultaneously in theaters and on Peacock, the sequel has generated significant interest despite mixed reviews. The streaming announcement was made on social media, where Peacock teased audiences with a message: “You can run, but you can’t hide 👀 #FNAF2 arrives April 3 on Peacock.”
Directed by Emma Tammi, Five Nights At Freddy’s 2 features a screenplay by the franchise’s creator, Scott Cawthon. The film sees the return of key cast members including Josh Hutcherson as Mike Schmidt, Elizabeth Lail as Vanessa Shelly, and Piper Rubio as Abby Schmidt. Notably, Matthew Lillard reprises his role as William Afton, while newcomers to the cast include Skeet Ulrich, Wayne Knight, Theodus Crane, and Mckenna Grace.
Despite receiving a dismal 16% score on Rotten Tomatoes, the film opened to impressive box office numbers, grossing $63 million during its opening weekend in the United States and Canada. Overall, it has accumulated $239.6 million globally, although this figure falls short of the original film’s total earnings of $297.2 million.
At this time, there has been no official announcement from Universal Pictures or Blumhouse regarding a potential third installment in the franchise. The performance of Five Nights At Freddy’s 2 will likely influence future decisions about the series.
As audiences prepare for its streaming release, the sequel’s blend of horror and nostalgia continues to engage fans around the world.
