Titomic Achieves Milestone with Successful Rocket Motor Test

Titomic Limited, a frontrunner in cold spray additive manufacturing, has successfully completed a hot fire test of a solid rocket motor thrust chamber. This achievement, announced on December 4, 2025, in Huntsville, Alabama, demonstrates the company’s advanced capabilities in producing high-performance components for the aerospace and defense sectors.

The thrust chamber was manufactured using Titomic’s proprietary Titomic Kinetic Fusion (TKF) technology, which enables the creation of robust components without traditional high-heat processes. The rigorous hot fire testing showcased exceptional structural integrity and thermal resilience, exceeding the performance expectations set for aerospace propulsion systems.

Advancing Aerospace Manufacturing

This successful test highlights the reliability of Titomic’s manufacturing approach. By leveraging cold spray technology, the company can produce large and complex geometries while significantly reducing lead times and material waste. These factors are crucial as the aerospace industry seeks innovative solutions to meet increasing demands.

Jim Simpson, CEO of Titomic, emphasized the importance of this milestone: “This successful test validates the strength and performance of Titomic’s technology in one of the most challenging environments imaginable.” He noted that the company efficiently delivered the components within weeks of receiving the order, underscoring its rapid production capabilities.

The hot fire test not only serves as a validation for Titomic but also strengthens its collaboration with major defense primes in the United States. This achievement aligns with Titomic’s strategic goals to enhance partnerships within the Department of Defense and expand its localized manufacturing solutions.

Future Prospects and Innovations

The successful test opens up new possibilities for the integration of TKF technology into operational programs. Titomic is also exploring further applications, including a recent contract with another major U.S. prime contractor that is evaluating TKF for rocket engine repair.

Dr. Patti Dare, President of Titomic USA, expressed excitement about the growing interest in their technology: “We are truly excited about the continued interest in our demonstrated TKF solutions.” This enthusiasm reflects the company’s commitment to pioneering advancements in aerospace manufacturing.

As Titomic continues to innovate, its successful hot fire test stands as a significant milestone, reinforcing the importance of cold spray additive manufacturing in developing advanced aerospace and defense solutions. This progress not only enhances efficiency and sustainability within global supply chains but also positions Titomic as a key player in the evolving landscape of aerospace technology.
