UPDATE: The 2025 Beijing International Audiovisual Conference has officially launched, running from November 27 to 28, 2025. This annual event, organized by the Beijing Municipal Radio and Television Bureau, is gathering over twenty nations to discuss groundbreaking developments in the audiovisual sector.
Themed “GATHER MOMENTUM FOR SYMBIOSIS, PIONEER THE FUTURE OF VISION,” the conference is critical for shaping the future of audiovisual content and technology. Key announcements were made during the opening ceremony, including the release of the Action Plan for Promoting High-Quality Development of the “AI + Audiovisual” Industry in Beijing (2025–2029). This ambitious initiative aims to integrate artificial intelligence into the industry, boosting technology research and development, application scenarios, and ecosystem growth.
A total of 161 outstanding projects have received funding under the 2025 Funding Projects of the Beijing Radio and Television Online Audiovisual Development Fund. These projects span seven categories, including TV dramas, documentaries, and animation, highlighting a significant investment in creative content.
The Beijing Economic-Technological Development Area is also unveiling plans to establish a new hub for innovation within the high-tech audiovisual industry. This initiative showcases Beijing’s commitment to fostering a complete industry chain ecosystem. The Bank of Beijing introduced its Financial Service Plan for New Quality Audiovisual Productivity, offering crucial full-cycle financial support to industry stakeholders.
As part of the conference, the Beijing Big Audiovisual “Jing Langya” Master Studio was launched, demonstrating the city’s efforts to cultivate a diverse pool of audiovisual talent. Notable speakers included Xiong Chengyu, who discussed production techniques in the AI era, and Luc Bénaz, who explored collaborative opportunities between China and Africa’s audiovisual industries.
Other highlights included insightful discussions on AI’s impact on content creation led by Fang Han, and a focus on the growing micro-drama market presented by Li Jiang. The conference also featured the results of collaborative dubbing projects between China and Kazakhstan, with presentations from Yilikhamjiang Ibragimov on successful co-productions, such as “Waiting for You in Ili.”
