Vivability Limited Wins Bathurst’s Business of the Year Award

BREAKING: Vivability Limited has just been named Bathurst’s Most Outstanding Business of the Year at the 2025 Carillon Business Awards, solidifying its impact in the community. The non-profit organization, dedicated to supporting individuals with disabilities, not only took home the top honor but also clinched the Excellence in Innovation award.

The evening was a triumph for Vivability, with CEO Nicholas Packham recognized as the Outstanding Business Leader. His leadership has been instrumental in the organization’s rapid growth since its inception in 2016. Celebrations erupted when the awards were announced, highlighting the community’s support for Vivability’s mission.

In addition to these accolades, Café Viva, owned and operated by Vivability, won two People’s Choice awards: Bathurst’s Favourite Business and the People’s Choice Award for Hospitality, making it a three-time winner in this category. The Café has provided over 10,000 free meals this year alone, demonstrating its commitment to community service.

The success of Vivability extends beyond awards. The organization is actively expanding its services. Plans are underway to transform an old ambulance station into a new café and cocktail bar, aimed at providing employment opportunities for individuals with disabilities. Although initial expectations targeted a mid-2025 opening, challenges have pushed the likely debut to 2026.

Vivability’s initiatives include funding a Marveloo in Bathurst, catering to people with complex disabilities, further showcasing its dedication to inclusivity. CEO Nicholas Packham, who has deep roots in Bathurst and a passion for disability advocacy, emphasized the importance of community support during a recent interview.

“We’re thrilled to receive this recognition,” said Jaclyn Underwood, executive officer for Vivability, who accepted the award on Packham’s behalf. “It reflects the hard work of our team and the unwavering support from the Bathurst community.”

As Vivability continues to grow, the organization remains committed to its mission of enhancing the lives of individuals with disabilities. With its expanding services and numerous accolades, Vivability is poised to make an even greater impact in the coming years.

Stay tuned for more updates on this developing story and the upcoming projects from Vivability.
