NYSE Pre-Market Update: Markets Steady as CES 2026 Kicks Off

The New York Stock Exchange (NYSE) released its daily pre-market update on January 6, 2026, indicating that stock prices remain relatively stable as trading begins. Following a record high close for the Dow Jones on January 5, investors continue to show a strong interest in technology shares during the first full trading week of the year.

As the Consumer Electronics Show (CES) commences in Las Vegas, hailed as the world’s leading technology event, the NYSE is actively participating. Viewers can tune in to the NYSE Live broadcast at 09:00 ET via the NYSE TV app, where Kristen Scholer will host an interview with Tom Stepien, the newly appointed CEO of Amprius Technologies. This event highlights the intersection of finance and technology, reflecting growing interest in innovations within the sector.

In addition to the CES activities, Tortoise Capital is set to ring the Opening Bell to officially launch its AI Infrastructure ETF (TCAI). Following the bell, Tom Florence, CEO of Tortoise Capital, will join the NYSE Live show to discuss the implications of this new investment vehicle. The ETF aims to provide investors with exposure to companies involved in artificial intelligence and related technologies.

Later in the evening, the spotlight will shift to the sports world as Sports Illustrated and Minute Media celebrate Shai Gilgeous-Alexander as the 2025 Sportsperson of the Year. This event will take place in Las Vegas, adding a layer of excitement to an already vibrant day in the city.

The NYSE also announced the recent launch of three new Gabelli ETFs: GOLS, KDVD, and GBHI. These funds aim to diversify investment opportunities for individuals looking to enhance their portfolios through specialized sectors.

Overall, the NYSE continues to provide valuable insights and updates as the market navigates through this dynamic trading environment. With key events like CES and the launch of new investment products, stakeholders remain engaged and optimistic about the future of technology and financial markets.
