BREAKING: A 27-year-old man from Maitland has been charged with 29 sexual assault offences following a major investigation by the Port Stephens-Hunter Police District. Detectives from the newly formed Strike Force Chariot arrested him yesterday afternoon at his residence in Bolwarra Heights.
The charges stem from alleged assaults on three female co-workers associated with an out-of-home care provider, occurring at various locations across New South Wales, including Greta, Rutherford, Tweed Heads, Banora Point, and Moss Vale. The incidents reportedly took place between August 2023 and January 2025.
Following his arrest on Tuesday, the accused was taken to Maitland Police Station, where he was formally charged with serious offences including five counts of sexual intercourse without consent, four counts of assault occasioning actual bodily harm, and two counts of aggravated sexual assault inflicting actual bodily harm. Other charges include multiple counts related to choking without consent.
