BREAKING: Five teenagers have been arrested following a dangerous police pursuit involving a stolen SUV in Dubbo. At 5:45 PM on November 19, 2025, officers from the Orana-Mid Western Police District spotted a black SUV being driven recklessly along the Mitchell Highway in Narromine.
Authorities attempted to pull over the vehicle, but the driver failed to comply, prompting a pursuit. The chase escalated through the intersection of the Mitchell Highway and Rosedale Road in Dubbo, where police successfully deployed road spikes. The SUV came to a halt shortly after, near Westview Road, as five suspects fled on foot.
Within minutes, officers apprehended four teenagers: two girls aged 15, a 13-year-old girl, and a 13-year-old boy nearby. The fifth suspect, a 16-year-old boy, was arrested later at 6:40 PM on Catherine Drive in Dubbo.
The 15-year-old girl is facing serious charges, including police pursuit and driving a vehicle taken without the owner’s consent. The other four teenagers are charged with being carried in a conveyance taken without consent. Notably, the 13-year-old boy was also charged with having a knife in a public place.
Four of the teens were denied bail and are set to appear in Children’s Court on November 20, 2025. The youngest girl received conditional bail, with a court appearance scheduled for January 12, 2026. Investigations revealed that the vehicle was stolen earlier that day from a residence in Portland, near Lithgow.
