BREAKING NEWS: The highly anticipated NRL match between the Panthers and Storm on August 14, 2025, has resulted in record-breaking TV ratings for the Nine Network. The figures reveal that Nine’s 9News drew a total TV national audience of 1,324,000, alongside a BVOD audience of 130,000. Seven’s Seven News closely followed, with a total reach of 2,050,000 viewers and a national audience of 1,326,000.

For the NRL match itself, Nine’s Thursday Night NRL Live recorded impressive numbers with a total national reach of 1,688,000 and an audience tally of 804,000. The BVOD audience came in at 123,000, showcasing the increasing trend of viewers turning to digital platforms for their sports fix.

In the demographic battle, Nine continues to shine, especially among the 25-54 age group. Nine’s Thursday Night NRL Live reached 614,000, with a national audience of 318,000, while Seven’s Seven News captured 572,000 in the same category.

The younger demographic of 16-39 year-olds showed significant engagement as well, with Nine’s Thursday Night NRL Live attracting a reach of 304,000 and an audience of 151,000.

The strong ratings underscore the growing popularity of NRL among viewers, particularly as the season heats up. Nine’s other programming, including A Current Affair and Tipping Point Australia, also performed well, attracting national audiences of 1,005,000 and 802,000, respectively.
