Contestants Return for Final Push Before Multimillion-Dollar Auction

The contestants from the popular home renovation series are back at their builds in Daylesford, Australia, as they prepare for a highly anticipated auction. With the price guide for all five houses set between $3 million and $3.5 million, the final touches are underway ahead of the auction day.

Excitement Builds as Contestants Prepare for Auction

After 12 weeks of intense renovations filled with emotional highs and lows, Sonny and Alicia, along with their three children, are now residing temporarily in House 4. “While building, occupancy wasn’t allowed. Now that we’ve stayed a few days, it feels a bit strange,” Alicia shared. “When we first sat on the couch, Sonny stood up, thinking he had to get back to work! But it’s wonderful to finally enjoy the house.”

On Friday, the couple hosted 40 children from the Heart Kids Foundation at their home. “It’s just nice to bring them out and take them through homes and create some memories with them,” Alicia noted. Their real estate agent has been closely involved with the foundation, donating part of their commission to support the children. As the auction approaches, Sonny and Alicia are making last-minute adjustments to ensure their home makes the best impression. “It’s definitely nerve-wracking. We want to put our best foot forward—that’s why we’re doing events like this. You never know, a buyer could be in the room,” Sonny added.

Perfectionists Focus on Details

Meanwhile, Han and Can are hard at work in House 2, determined to present a flawless home for auction day. “We’re back here and making sure it’s picture-perfect for auction day—we’re painting, patching, and finessing every detail,” Can explained. “We are perfectionists. Han and I don’t want to stop until we get it just right.” The duo plans to remain in the house to personally introduce potential buyers to their work. “We’re trying to spend as much time as we can with locals and potential buyers—showing them the space, introducing ourselves as the builders behind the home, and really just engaging with the local community,” Han said. They even offered to stay in the home for up to 12 months if it means ensuring a sale.

Britt and Taz, originally from Newman in Western Australia, expressed their newfound appreciation for Daylesford’s beauty. “Where we came from, it’s all red dirt and mountains. When we first got here, it was so green with trees everywhere. It was just beautiful,” Taz remarked. The pair has returned to Daylesford primarily to make minor repairs, ensuring that everything is in order before the auction. “We’re manifesting good wins for everyone, and we genuinely want all the contestants to do well,” Britt stated. They plan to be available for walkthroughs in the coming weeks, eager to showcase their hard work.

The auction day promises to be a significant event, not only for the contestants but also for the local community. With excitement building, the contestants are investing their final efforts to ensure their homes shine on auction day. As they engage with potential buyers and the community, the stakes are high, and the atmosphere is electric as they prepare for this pivotal moment in their renovation journey.
