Community Bank Invests $518K in Macedon Ranges Projects NOW

URGENT UPDATE: Community Bank Gisborne and District has just announced a significant investment of $518,718 into the southern Macedon Ranges, funding 46 projects for the 2024-25 financial year. This crucial funding aims to uplift the local community and foster development through various initiatives.

Mal Carter, Chair of Macedon Ranges Community Enterprises Ltd, expressed pride in the bank’s contribution, stating, “We are proud to be part of the largest social enterprise movement in Australia, returning at least 80 percent of our profits to the local community each year in the form of grants, scholarships, sponsorships, and donations.”

This year marks a landmark achievement for the bank, with total contributions reaching an impressive $4 million since its inception in 2008. Carter emphasized the importance of community support, highlighting the dedication of shareholders, staff, and customers who have driven this success.

Among the key projects funded this year are the sponsorship of the Riddell District Football Netball League, an emergency generator for Bullengarook CFA, the Mount Macedon Anzac Day Dawn Service, and the Woodend Winter Arts Festival. These initiatives not only empower local organizations but also enhance community spirit and engagement.

Community banks in Lancefield, Romsey, and Trentham are also contributing by supporting numerous other projects, showcasing a unified effort to bolster the Macedon Ranges community.

With this latest funding announcement, residents can look forward to a range of exciting developments that will enhance local infrastructure and cultural initiatives. The community is encouraged to stay engaged and participate in these upcoming projects, which promise to make a lasting impact.
