Urgent Recall: Over 7,200 Ford Mustangs Due to Safety Defect

URGENT UPDATE: Over 7,200 Ford Mustangs are being recalled in Australia due to a serious safety defect that could lead to increased risks of injury or even death. The recall affects models manufactured between 2022 and 2025, as confirmed by the Australian Competition & Consumer Commission (ACCC).

The ACCC warns that the Body Control Module (BCM) in these vehicles may be vulnerable to water leakage, which can affect critical lighting functions. Specifically, the front and rear side marker lamps, taillamps, and license plate lamps may fail to operate correctly. This malfunction could severely reduce visibility for drivers and prevent other road users from identifying the vehicle in low-light conditions, heightening the risk of serious accidents.

According to the ACCC’s statement, “Lighting features not operating as intended may reduce the driver’s visibility. Additionally, other road users may be unable to identify the vehicle in dark conditions,” emphasizing the potential for catastrophic consequences.

Ford Motor Company Australia is reaching out directly to owners of the affected models, urging them to schedule appointments with local dealerships for necessary repairs at no cost. The swift action is crucial as the safety of drivers and other road users hangs in the balance.

Authorities stress the importance of addressing this defect immediately and recommend that all owners of Ford Mustangs manufactured in the specified period take this recall notice seriously.

As the situation develops, stay tuned for further updates on this urgent recall and any additional safety measures that may be implemented. Share this information to ensure that all Mustang owners are informed and can take immediate action to protect themselves and others on the road.
