High School Students Invited to Showcase Art Against Gender Violence

The Union of High School Students of the Republic of North Macedonia (UNHSM), in collaboration with the OSCE Mission to Skopje, has launched an Open Call for high school students to submit original artworks. This initiative aims to promote gender equality and combat gender-based violence against young women and girls.

Empowering Youth Voices

This youth-led initiative serves as a platform for high school students to express their views on equality, dignity, and the necessity of fostering a safe environment free from violence for all young women and girls. By participating, students can contribute to a vital discussion on these pressing issues while showcasing their artistic talents.

The Open Call is open to all high school students across the Republic of North Macedonia. Participants under the age of 18 will need to secure written consent from a parent or legal guardian before their artworks can be publicly displayed or used in promotional materials.

Art Submission Details

Artists are encouraged to submit a variety of artworks, adhering to specified technical requirements that will be outlined in the submission guidelines. The deadline for submissions is set for March 15, 2026.

An Evaluation Committee, consisting of three judges, will review all entries. The evaluation process is expected to conclude by March 25, 2026, and the decisions made by the committee will be final.

Selected artworks will be showcased at a public exhibition planned for the second half of April 2026. All participants whose works are chosen will receive certificates of recognition, and three outstanding entries will be awarded symbolic prizes.

By submitting their creations, participants grant consent for their artworks to be used for exhibition and promotional activities related to this initiative, with proper attribution given to the artists.

This initiative not only highlights the power of art as a medium for awareness but also encourages young artists to engage in meaningful dialogue around gender equality and social change. The UNHSM and the OSCE Mission to Skopje invite all eligible students to take part in this significant opportunity to make a positive impact through their creativity.
