BREAKING: The Broome Junior-Senior Motocross Club has just received a substantial funding boost of $77,139 for an exciting new dirt-kart track and upgraded facilities. This funding is part of the State Government’s PlayOn WA initiative, which is injecting $2.8 million into grassroots sports across Western Australia.

The funding will enhance the motocross precinct with a significant track extension, including vital new toilet and washroom facilities. This upgrade is not just about sport; it’s set to create a more vibrant community hub that benefits residents and visitors alike.

Member for Kimberley, Divina D’Anna, expressed her enthusiasm for the project. “Congratulations to the Broome Motocross Club who will be receiving $77,139 as part of the Cook Labor Government’s Community Sporting and Recreation Facilities Fund,” she said. D’Anna emphasized that these upgrades align with the ambitious 2030 by 2030 initiative, aimed at delivering 2030 community sport and recreation infrastructure projects across WA by the year 2030.

Sport and Recreation Minister Rita Saffioti highlighted the importance of these grants for nurturing healthier, more connected communities. “Through the PlayOn WA initiative, we’re delivering high-quality and accessible facilities that are vital for building healthy and connected communities,” she stated. Saffioti’s remarks underscore the government’s commitment to improving local sports infrastructure, ensuring it meets the growing demands of communities throughout the state.

This funding marks a crucial step forward for the Broome motocross scene and is part of a broader initiative, with 32 projects funded statewide in the latest round. The upgrades are poised to have a lasting positive impact on the local community, providing enhanced recreational opportunities for all age groups.

As this project moves forward, community members can look forward to new experiences at the Broome motocross precinct. The enhancements promise to attract more participants and spectators, helping to foster a vibrant sporting culture in the region.
