URGENT UPDATE: A 53-year-old woman has been charged with sly grogging after Fitzroy Crossing police discovered her with over 100 litres of wine during a traffic stop. This incident occurred at 9:15 AM on August 20, 2023, on the Great Northern Highway, raising serious concerns about illegal alcohol trafficking in the area.
During the search of her vehicle, officers found two plastic tubs containing 50 two-litre casks of wine, valued at approximately $10,000. Authorities suspect that this substantial quantity of alcohol was intended for unlawful sale in the central Kimberley area.
