SkyBus Offers Free Travel for Veterans This Remembrance Day

UPDATE: SkyBus has just announced free travel for veterans, war widows, and war widowers in honor of Remembrance Day from November 10-12, 2023. This initiative aims to support those who have served and their families, providing a vital service to commemorate this important occasion.

SkyBus will offer complimentary rides on its express transfer services connecting the city to Melbourne Airport. The free routes include the Melbourne City Express from Southern Cross Station, as well as the Eastern Express, Sunshine Express, and Peninsula Express services, all connecting various suburbs to the airport.

Matthew Campbell, Managing Director of SkyBus, expressed pride in the company’s commitment to honoring veterans. “Remembrance Day is an opportunity for all Australians to honor the service and sacrifice of those who have served our country,” he stated. He emphasized that this free travel is a small gesture of gratitude for their contributions.

Eligible travelers must present specific identification to access this service. Acceptable forms include the DVA gold or white card, Veterans Victoria card via the Service Victoria app, or wearing a war widows badge or service medals. Passengers can simply board the SkyBus and show their identification to the driver or a Customer Service Ambassador at the curb.

This initiative not only highlights the importance of Remembrance Day but also reinforces community support for veterans across Australia. With travel made easier during this significant period, families can focus on honoring their loved ones and participating in commemorative activities.

SkyBus urges eligible veterans and families to take advantage of this opportunity. As Remembrance Day approaches, this offer stands as a testament to the respect and gratitude the nation holds for its servicemen and women.
