UPDATE: Police have just announced further murder charges in the tragic case of two children who died in Cobblebank last year, following shocking new developments in the investigation. The charges come after the fatal incidents that occurred on September 6, 2023, when 15-year-old Dau Akueng and 12-year-old Chol Achiek lost their lives.
Emergency services were alerted shortly before 8 PM that night, responding to reports of two children who had been seriously injured. Chol was found on Marble Drive, while Dau was located on Cobble Street. Both boys received immediate assistance from bystanders but tragically succumbed to their injuries at the scene.
Initially, police charged eight individuals in connection with these murders, including a man from Thornhill Park and four teenage boys for Dau’s murder. Additionally, a man from Caroline Springs, a man from Wollert, and another teenage boy were charged with Chol’s murder. In a significant escalation of the case, all eight individuals have now been charged with both murders and remain in custody, awaiting their next court appearances.
