A Palestinian individual has killed two people in northern Israel, prompting an immediate response from authorities. The attack, described by police as a “rolling terror attack,” resulted in the deaths of a man and a woman, both of whom were pronounced dead at the scene after medics were unable to resuscitate them. Additionally, a teenager sustained injuries during the incident.
Israeli Defence Minister Israel Katz announced that he has directed the military to respond forcefully in the West Bank town of Qabaitya, identified as the assailant’s origin, in order to prevent further violence. The Israeli military confirmed it is “preparing for an operation” in the area to address the threat.
The Israeli ambulance service reported that the victims were a male and female, both of whom died from their injuries. The teenager who was injured is currently receiving medical attention.
In a separate incident on Thursday, an Israeli reservist allegedly rammed his vehicle into a Palestinian man who was praying by the roadside in the occupied West Bank. The Israeli army stated that the reservist had fired shots in the area prior to the event. “Footage was received of an armed individual running over a Palestinian individual,” the army reported, clarifying that the reservist’s military service had been terminated due to his actions, which were deemed a “severe violation of his authority.” His weapon has since been confiscated, and reports indicate he is under house arrest.
The Palestinian man involved in the vehicle incident was taken to a hospital for checks but was unharmed and has since returned home. Video footage verified by Reuters shows a man in civilian clothing, armed and driving an off-road vehicle towards the individual praying.
This year marks one of the most violent periods recorded for Israeli civilian attacks against Palestinians in the West Bank. According to data from the United Nations, over 750 injuries have been reported. Between October 7, 2023 and October 17, 2025, more than a thousand Palestinians were killed in the West Bank, primarily as a result of actions by security forces and some due to settler violence. During the same timeframe, 57 Israelis lost their lives in attacks attributed to Palestinians.
The rising tensions in the region continue to draw international attention, highlighting the ongoing conflict and the urgent need for a resolution to ensure the safety and security of all individuals in the area.
