Babs Donaldson Honored for 22 Years of Service to Families

URGENT UPDATE: Babs Donaldson, a beloved figure in Griffith, has been honored for her remarkable 22 years of dedicated service to Country Hope, impacting families facing critical health challenges. This recognition comes as the charity continues its vital support for families with children diagnosed with cancer and other life-threatening illnesses.

Mrs. Donaldson has been a cornerstone of Country Hope since 2003, providing both financial and emotional support to families in the Riverina region. “It has been an incredible privilege to be part of such a caring family-focused organization,” she stated, emphasizing the profound difference Country Hope has made in the community. “There is still plenty of work to be done.”

In a ceremony held earlier today, Anne Lowe, Chair of the Country Hope Board, presented Mrs. Donaldson with an Infinity Pin, the highest recognition for service within the organization. This honor reflects her enduring influence and outstanding contributions over the years.

Despite stepping down as a Board Director to care for her late husband, Bill Donaldson, who passed away in 2024, Mrs. Donaldson remains committed to Country Hope’s mission. She continues to support the charity in assisting Riverina families in need, ensuring her legacy of compassion lives on.

Morris Massarroto, a fellow Board Director, described her contribution as “profound and lasting.” He noted, “Thanks to her tireless volunteer work, vital fundraising efforts, and fearless advocacy, she has ensured hundreds of Riverina families have never needed to face these harrowing journeys alone.” His words highlight the immense impact Mrs. Donaldson has had on the Griffith community.

Currently, Country Hope supports fourteen families across the MIA area and is actively working to expand its reach in 2026. The charity hopes that the dedication of community members like Mrs. Donaldson will inspire others to volunteer, fundraise, or support their initiatives.

As news of Mrs. Donaldson’s recognition spreads, it serves as a powerful reminder of the importance of community support in times of need. Her unwavering commitment stands as a beacon of hope for families navigating the toughest challenges life can bring.
