Gemini Unveils Urgent AI Image Editing Tools for Instant Use

UPDATE: Gemini has just announced the rollout of new AI image editing tools that promise to revolutionize how users manipulate images, making it faster and easier than ever. This exciting development allows users to execute complex edits previously requiring extensive skills and time in Photoshop.

With the latest updates, Gemini users can now employ advanced markup tools to enhance their images simply by using text prompts. Whether you want to change a t-shirt color from red to blue or remove an unwanted object from a photo, these tools offer a professional solution without the need for prior editing experience.

As of October 15, 2023, users can access these features by uploading an image within the Gemini app and tapping the thumbnail to reveal markup options. If you haven’t seen the tools yet, quitting and restarting the app may help, or you might need to wait a bit longer for the rollout to reach your device.

The new markup capabilities include a drawing tool, easily accessible via an icon resembling a scribble. This feature enables users to highlight specific areas of an image, allowing for more precise edits. For instance, you can circle a spot in the sky and request, “add a cartoon dragon here,” providing clear guidance for the AI.

Additionally, users can ask questions about elements within the image by circling them and attaching prompts. This functionality is akin to the existing Circle to Search feature on Android, enhancing user interaction with their photos.

Another notable addition is the text tool, denoted by a “T” icon, which allows users to add text overlays to images. Although specifics on usage remain unclear, this tool enables users to manipulate and describe changes with rudimentary text options.

The tools are currently in testing, as confirmed by sources at Android Authority, indicating that Google has yet to release official guidance. However, users are encouraged to explore these features now, as they may already be available.

This rollout signifies a significant step forward in AI-assisted image editing, placing powerful capabilities directly in the hands of everyday users. As Gemini continues to enhance its offerings, further updates and features are expected soon.

Stay tuned for more information as this situation develops, and don’t forget to share your creative edits with the new tools. The future of image editing is here, and it’s more accessible than ever!
