Lynx coach Ryan Petrik expressed disbelief over Maley’s exclusion, emphasizing her crucial contribution to the team. After a remarkable effort of 19 points and 16 rebounds against Adelaide Lightning earlier, Maley escalated her game to new heights against the Capitals.
Entering the match, the Capitals (6-7) were on a four-game winning streak, but the absence of forward Sara Blicavs due to a knee injury was palpable.
