URGENT UPDATE: A trail bike rider has tragically been found dead following an extensive search operation in the bushland area of Wombeyan Caves, New South Wales. The search, which involved multiple emergency services, began after the rider was reported missing on September 4, 2023.
Authorities confirmed that the man, believed to be in his sixties, left Farmborough Heights at 8:00 AM on a recreational motorcycle ride along Swallow Tail Pass. At 10:30 AM on Friday, a motorcycle and the man’s body were discovered approximately 15 metres down an embankment along Wombeyan Caves Road. While formal identification is pending, officials believe the body is that of the missing rider.
“While yet to be formally identified, the body is believed to be that of the missing man,” stated a police spokesperson. Authorities have confirmed that there are no suspicious circumstances surrounding the death, and a report will be submitted to the coroner for further investigation.
