Danielle Lloyd, the former Miss Great Britain, has undergone surgery following a second scare involving skin cancer. The 41-year-old model, who was previously diagnosed with melanoma, had a mole removed from her collarbone earlier this year. She has now had another changing blemish excised from her torso, which will be sent for a biopsy. As she awaits the results, which are expected in 8 to 10 weeks, Lloyd is using her platform to raise awareness about skin health.
In a video shared on Instagram, Danielle highlighted the mole she had removed, stating, “It only looks small but it’s definitely changed in colour and size.” This latest health concern has understandably made her apprehensive. She reflected on her feelings before the procedure, saying, “I was a little bit apprehensive when I was waiting but then I was absolutely fine going in.”
Despite the serious nature of her situation, Danielle found a moment of humor. She jokingly remarked about the markings left on her body, saying, “I had to laugh because it looked like they’d drawn the evil eye on my belly.” After the surgery, she described the aftermath, noting, “When I got home I was a little bit sore and a little bit swollen but overall I’m just looking forward to getting some positive results.”
Lloyd is also a mother of five, sharing children Archie, 14, George, 13, and Harry, 11, with ex-husband Jamie O’Hara, as well as Ronnie, seven, and Autumn, three, with partner Michael O’Neill. Her recent experiences with skin cancer have prompted her to emphasize the importance of skin health to her followers, urging them to “know the signs and protect yourself from the sun.”
In her Instagram post, she included a message of caution: “Please don’t ignore any changes to your skin. I never thought this would happen to me… until it did. Early detection saves lives — skin cancer is highly treatable when caught early.” She encouraged her audience to take proactive measures, such as using high SPF sunscreen, covering up, and avoiding sunbeds.
Danielle’s perspective on life has shifted significantly since her diagnosis. Two months after her initial surgery, she shared her changed outlook, stating, “I used to be a total sun worshiper, never really thinking about the risk of skin cancer. Sunbeds before holidays? Absolutely!” Now, she has chosen to prioritize her health and the well-being of her children, saying, “I’ve decided it’s better to fake the glow because my health and being there for my kids are what truly matter.”
While waiting for results from her recent procedure, Danielle remains optimistic and committed to protecting her skin from harmful UV rays in the future. Her candidness about her health journey not only serves as a personal reflection but also as a crucial reminder for others to take skin changes seriously and prioritize their health.
