URGENT UPDATE: Manulife has just launched its inaugural Longevity Symposium in Singapore, attracting over 1,000 attendees including industry leaders and healthcare experts. The event, held at the Marina Bay Sands Expo and Convention Centre, highlights the critical need for better health and wellness solutions in Asia as the region grapples with an ageing population.
Minister of State Jasmin Lau opened the symposium, emphasizing the importance of longevity and well-being in today’s society. This landmark gathering marks a significant step in Manulife’s commitment to addressing the challenges of living longer and healthier lives.
Manulife also unveiled an enhanced version of its flagship program, ManulifeMOVE, designed to empower customers to take control of their health journeys. The program now offers a comprehensive suite of benefits across six key pillars, including healthcare and community engagement, ensuring members receive personalized support tailored to their needs.
“Insurance is no longer just about financial protection; it’s about preparing for life’s changes,” said Harshal Shah, Chief Marketing & Experience Design Officer at Manulife Asia. The newly expanded ManulifeMOVE features a tiered membership structure that grants access to various partner privileges, strengthening community ties and promoting holistic well-being.
The symposium also served as a platform for innovation, announcing the winners of the ‘Innovating for Asia’s Demographic Future Challenge’, which aims to foster solutions for multigenerational financial resilience and healthy ageing. Ten groundbreaking ventures were recognized, including AI-powered health diagnostics and digital tools enhancing home safety for older adults. These winners will receive a share of a $200,000 prize pool and join UpLink’s Innovation Ecosystem to further develop their initiatives.
Manulife’s Asia Care Survey revealed that only 6% of respondents prioritized longevity over health quality, indicating a shift in focus towards living a fulfilling life. “We must raise awareness of preventive health, financial planning, and mental well-being,” stated Benoit Meslet, President and CEO of Manulife Singapore.
As Asia’s demographic landscape evolves, Manulife’s initiatives are crucial in helping individuals navigate their health and financial futures. The Longevity Symposium is a pivotal move towards creating a healthier, more resilient society in the face of ageing challenges.
