Bitget Launches Urgent Relief Drive for Northern Cebu Quake Victims

UPDATE: In a rapid response to the devastating 6.9 magnitude earthquake that struck northern Cebu, Philippines, on November 2, 2025, Bitget, the world’s largest Universal Exchange (UEX), has mobilized a significant PHP 100,000 relief effort to support affected communities. This initiative, conducted in partnership with The Ascent Project, aims to deliver essential supplies to those most impacted by the disaster.

The earthquake, recorded as the strongest to hit northern Cebu in decades, has left thousands displaced and caused extensive damage to infrastructure. Reports confirm that relief supplies are now reaching 118 residents in Bogo City and San Remigio, with critical items such as food packs and hygiene kits being distributed to over one hundred families still grappling with the aftermath.

Gracy Chen, CEO of Bitget, emphasized the urgent need for community support during this crisis. “My heart goes out to people that have been struggling during this difficult time. Our community in Cebu has helped us stand with those in need during such distress, and we hope to support and continue building trust,” Chen stated.

The relief operation, spearheaded by The Ascent Project along with local volunteers, coordinated closely with barangay officials to ensure aid reached those with the most pressing needs. Many families are still without reliable access to electricity or clean water, making the timely delivery of assistance even more crucial as weather alerts indicate another storm may be approaching.

Bitget’s commitment to community support goes beyond immediate relief efforts. The company utilizes its local trading community—one of its longest-running grassroots groups in Southeast Asia—to identify urgent needs and mobilize resources quickly. This initiative also aligns with Bitget’s broader global impact strategy, which includes partnerships aimed at advancing digital and blockchain education for over 1 million youth by 2027, in collaboration with UNICEF.

As recovery efforts in northern Cebu progress, Bitget and its partners are evaluating additional strategies to provide ongoing support and assist in rebuilding initiatives. The company remains dedicated to extending its impact beyond trading platforms, ensuring meaningful, on-ground contributions where communities need it most.

Stay tuned for more updates on this developing story as Bitget continues to support recovery efforts in northern Cebu. For further information, visit Bitget’s official channels.
